2012 Honorees

Congratulations to the 2012 iEducate Delaware Honorees! Each Honoree has been celebrated in a variety of news sources as well as at the 2012 Fall Vision 2015 Conference Awards Ceremony. In addition, they each received a $2,000 grant to help support and expand their work.

Check out short videos of them and their work below!

Audrey Carey

Audrey plans to use the $2,000 award to expand the Technology Advancing Proficiency in English Language Learners (TAPE) program into 1st grade, allowing better vertical integration in elementary schools and ensuring young students take advantage of their ability to learn a new language.

Margaret O’Dwyer

Margaret plans to use the $2,000 award to support the ongoing inaugural year of DYLN—buying leadership assessment tools, books, case studies, and more. The grant would help make the program a high quality experience for its participants, ensuring a successful and high-quality first year which in turn will help attract other funding sources to make the program sustainable.

Sarah Preston

Sarah plans to use the $2,000 award to provide assistive technology to the preschool students with autism in her classroom (Ipad, Itouch, other communication applications). This would give these students a way to communicate nonverbally and help students develop their communication skills. In this way, she hopes to provide a proof point to others that this strategy works for young students with autism.

Tracey Roberts

Tracey plans to use the $2,000 award to continue support of Pulaski on the Prowl and expand it to include local community centers and partners. In addition, she would like to do mid-year “Prowls” to continue the community engagement. In so doing, she would aim to increase parent engagement, student achievement, student attendance, and parent involvement and volunteerism.

Lori Roe

Lori plans to use the $2,000 award to expand the “Beyond Classroom Walls” project to all grade levels and curricular areas, and provide professional development to teachers to build capacity and train teachers on how to use the resources effectively. In doing so, Lori hopes that her project can serve as a model for other schools and districts.
